First Aid for church abuse victims is a ministry of delicate boldness.
PorchSwing Ministries, Inc helps victims of church abuse through the immediate crisis* as well as on the long journey.
Upon disclosure of abuse, victims need to speak to someone experienced in hearing their stories with empathy and deep compassion, knowing what to say and what not to say, and the ability to offer true hope for healing.
PorchSwing Ministries, Inc responds to requests for First Aid Services via telephone or digital communication within 24 hours of each initial request. Email us for more information.
*If you or the person you are with is experiencing a life-threatening emergency such as suicidal or homicidal thinking, or any other life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room immediately.
First Aid is compassionate conversation with people informed by experience and training in working with church abuse survivors. Survivors benefit from open-ended conversation with informed others who know how to listen with empathy in trusting belief and confidentiality.
First Aid is NOT counseling or therapy.
Who Needs First Aid?
Any person or family member of a person who has experienced abuse of any kind at the hand of a church member or church leader at any time in their lives.

First Aid is one of the many resources available at PorchSwing Ministries, Inc. Our goal is to walk alongside Survivors as they carve their healing paths utilizing whichever resources work best for them.
