PorchSwing Ministries, Inc.
PorchSwing Ministries, Inc. seeks to offer a safe space where church abuse survivors can find Kingdom community in ways that feel safe and, hopefully, lead them back into the vibrant Kingdom life they once had and continue to yearn for.
A safe space online to experience healing through a caring community of worship, biblical teaching, and love-centered conversation affirming each survivor’s experiences and journey to wholeness in God’s Kingdom.
"Blessed be... God... the God of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
—2 Corinthians 1:3-4
ABOUT THE FOUNDER:
Christine Fox Parker
Minister| President & Executive Director
I am a sojourner. A wanderer. A wonderer.
I have loved God, my Majesty, from my earliest days, though I have not always liked God. I have spent a great deal of my life wondering what is so difficult about being loved that makes others hurt those who would love them the most.
I now think that is the wrong question.
I am a Survivor.
I have survived some forms of abuse and not others.
Many of the abusers have been church people.
Some have been professional ministers and church leaders.
Leaning into healing became my way through the isolation of church abuse.
In that leaning, in the isolation, God reminded me of a fundamental truth:
God is my salvation. In God alone is my healing.
And church is not a space. The church is God's truest people.
